Tommy Burke is our local archaeologist and historian who provides guided walks on the island.
Tommy was born on Inishbofin and has lived here all his life. He has a great interest in local history and folklore and delights in passing on his knowledge to visitors to the island. Tommy has a diploma in archaeology from NUI Galway and is involved with the Cultural Landscapes of the Irish Coast project. This is a cultural and anthropological study of communities along the Irish coastline with a particular emphasis on Inishbofin and Inishark.
